Understanding and managing stress in academic life

Target: Dottorandi/e

This interactive seminar explores stress as a natural psychological and physiological response to the demands of academic life, with a particular focus on the experiences of PhD students. It introduces the distinction between positive stress (eustress) and negative stress (distress), highlighting how stress can both support and hinder academic performance. Drawing on practical frameworks such as the “Stress Bucket” model, the session emphasizes individual differences in stress tolerance and coping capacity.
